A Little Bit About Me...

I began my teaching career in May of 2007 and never imagined the fulfillment I would receive. I have learned that each child is unique and special in their own special way. My style of teaching involves as much one on one involvement as possible. I think that repetition is a proven way to teach each child. I know that through proper guidance and attention each child will reach success. My goal and objection is to be the one who can help guide and mentor them along the way.

I graduated from Henderson State University with a BA degree in sociology and since then I have worked in residential treatment facilities as a therapist, a teacher, and tutor or councelor. I am currently a CASA volunteer in Fayetteville, assisting children who need advocacy in the court system. My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught. I work with the individual but never let the focus off of the competition that's waiting. Students must understand that learning is an every day, every moment experience. It's all about how they see the world around them. I love teaching and working with children. The "aha" moment is what I live for. I believe that EVERY student can achieve what they set their mind to with guidance and persistence.
