I taught Kindergarten for six years in Ohio after earning my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. During that time I went back to further my education and receive my Master's in Literacy. I find that teaching is as much about getting to know each person, finding there strengths and weaknesses and using those to benefit them in their process of understanding. I like to come up with creative approaches that will suit each individual's strengths for learning. I know that one on one attention, support and encouragement is a large component of what is missing in a lot of today's public school classrooms and love the opportunity that tutoring can provide to children who can learn just as well as anyone else, but may not be finding success in the classroom.
