Hello! I have just graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Physics minor. While attaining a BS in Mathematics at Penn State University, I was heavily involved in peer tutoring. For two semesters I spent 10-20 hours per week working one-on-one with students struggling or seeking a higher level of success in courses ranging from pre-algebra to calculus 2. I graduated from a Pennsylvania Systems of Higher Education college with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. The entire time I was enrolled I was a tutor in the Math Assistant Center as one of the top tutors. I was always told I should be a teacher but for now I am on a quest to get my PhD. I enjoy tutoring anywhere from beginners algebra in middle school all the way to college classes like Ordinary/Partial Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, and some physics.

A Little Bit About Me...

I belief that conceptual understanding is the foundation of learning. Teaching kids to solve a specific problem that they can't do doesn't accomplish much, in my opinion. Going back to the concept and helping them really understand what is going on, either physically or mathematically, will not only help them with the problem they have, but give them a basis for future knowledge.
I have tutored math, chemistry and physics both officially and unofficially throughout most of my undergraduate education. My BS in physics, as well as my work in an atmospheric physics lab, has given me a strong mathematical and physical science background. In high school and college I admired my teachers, especially in the sciences. After I got my PhD I went for academic positions, and very much enjoyed teaching physics and the other physical sciences. (In fact, I concentrated so much on my teaching that I didn’t get the research funding necessary for tenure.)
