A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style changes with my perception of a student's needs. My goal is to show students the path by which they can come to answers themselves. In discussing the subject matter with a student, I can gain a solid understanding of what he or she is capable. Using my patience and ability to effectively describe complicated concepts with analogies and visual aids, I have had great success. I have become very adept at determining what level each student is at and tailoring my teaching style to suit the students that I am working with. In a class of over 20, I was able to reach each student with modified lessons and assignments. In the case of individual tutoring, I move at a rate that challenges the student while giving them ample opportunities to feel successful. Developing a good practical understanding of the subject matter has been my main motivation for tutoring students. My approach to curriculum based or assignment based teaching may be slightly different (depending upon the understanding of the subject matter by the student), but I believe it should lead to the same result.
