My responsibilities included teaching, preparing learning materials for basic reading, personal finance, and vocational skills, implementing behavior programs, supervising 7 staff members, and writing quarterly lesson plans and progress reports. I also spent a couple of hours per week for 2 years, tutoring my blind supervisor on the use of computers. In 1992, I went back to college to pursue my true passion, and earned a degree in mathematics and computer science. As an aerospace engineering student at Embry-Riddle, mathematics comes quite easily to me. I enjoy solving and creating mathematical problems. At Embry-Riddle I quickly became known as the "go to" guy for all math related questions. Within the first two weeks of the first semester I was leading a Calculus 2 study group and retained my position as such until the end of the semester. While the study group dwindled in size for Calculus 3 I did still lead the group.
I enjoy teaching mathematics and biology. If the student is willing to learn in some fashion I can help him or her. I'm also an expert in using examples to explain a point. Especially when explaining technical things I can use non-technical examples to offer enlightenment.
