A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a BS in Marketing Communications. My minor area of study while at River Falls was Psychology, and over the course of my college career, my interest in the topic has developed into a career goal. I plan to return to UW River Falls this Fall to earn a Mater's degree in School Psychology. For the past six years I have taught and coached Swimming and Diving lessons to children ages 4-16. I have also tutored Junior High students in English.
I believe that every child has the ability to be a successful learner, and I enjoy watching my students grow and improve at different paces. I prefer a casual learning environment, one that includes appropriate humor and an appreciation for students' individuality. My most rewarding experiences as a teacher were when students who came into the class with an "I hate writing" attitude learned to use language to express themselves -- and had fun doing it. Many students told me, "I thought I'd hate this class, but now it's my favorite."
