My comments on tutoring Special Education : I used to work with kids that had Autism and I loved every second of it.

I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I also taught "at-risk" elementary age children during the summer for the Glendora Unifed School District in Glendora, CA. I received my Bachelors of Fine Art in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Michigan. I've designed a logo and business card for a restaurant that has opened in my city and also have done some digital artwork and hand drawn art work that hangs on the walls inside. I've designed a book cover for a published book that is available online. I free lance my graphic design skills whenever I can. I currently work as an Operations Supervisor at Office Max, which is essentially the third manager in the store.

My comments on tutoring Special Education : 2-3 years as a substitute teacher.

I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. I have tutored for the Sickle Cell Organization in 2001, helping students catch up numerous missed assignments. I tutor when the opportunity presents itself.
