I have just graduated high school, and have just finished thirteen years of learning. I have ADD, and have had a semester's worth of interning at the Specialized Language Development Center, working with kids who struggle with reading, writing, and comprehension. Kids brought to the center are usually dyslexic, ADD/ADHD, or have some type of learning disability, however, those without disabilities come for help too, ranging from kindergarden all the way to college level students.

A Little Bit About Me...

In addition to tutoring in my home for fifteen years, I received a Summa Cum Laude for the quality of my Master's Thesis in Creative Writing, and was the only student ever to be asked to serve as the Interim Director of the Cleveland State Writing Center. I have won awards, including the Trawick Grant (a $5000) prize for my writing. I have taught college writing to all levels from Developmental to 400-level Special Topics, including in Literature, and I've also taught many classes to non-native speakers of English. I have tutored Philosophy, English, Music, Art History, Theology, and History. I'm extrememly capable in any of the Humanities courses.

A Little Bit About Me...

Every student is different; some require more help than others. As a teacher I have to find the best way for the child to learn. I want learning to be constructive, but also fun. I have discovered through years of education, that the amount of enthusiasm from an educator can make a huge difference. Therefore as an educator, I need to be patient and always encouraging. Adding details, examples, and stories to a study subject can help many students mentally see what I’m trying to teach.
