A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experience includes helping my peers at the University of Wyoming and duties of training petty officer in the US Navy. At UW, I tutored physics, math, and basic engineering. While getting my BS in Mechanical Engineering, I gained an extensive knowledge of the principles and practice of mathematics. I was the training petty officer both at boot camp and on my ship, FFG43. I was responsible creating lessons and giving training that resulted in improved job knowledge and increased qualifications for members of my division.
I love seeing children learn and grow. My teaching style is a whole, part, whole approach. I teach the abstract concept and then the practical application. As an educator I love to see "light bulb" moments, that moment where a student "gets it". The look on their face is priceless. I feel that in order to see these moments one has to understand that each student does not learn the same. Some can simply see it, whereas some have to do it. Each student has their special way of learning.
