My career invloves owrking whith children, especially those who are underprivilged or may be behind academically. My patient charasmatic attitude makes me captivate a students attention as well as keep it trhough out a session. As a lover of learning I make it my priority to show them their ability for sucess as well as making it a fun experiance rather than a chore. It is important that children feel as if they are fully capable of success. As a liberal arts school graduate, I was driven to achieve excellence in more than one area of study. Claire S - Atlanta, GA 30332 (53.4 mi) - Violin Tutor - $40.50/hr.
I work as a one-on-one tutor. It is my teaching philosophy that the best tutor leads the child to discover the answer himself/herself. Thus, I employ various techniques to help the child think about the problem in a different way. For example, when teaching a child to do arithmetic, for example, adding 8, I would tell the child to add 10 and then subtract 2. This leads to quick math computation and a better understanding of math foundations. I worked at Mathnasium for two years. Mathnasium is a math tutoring center for children ranging from kindergarten to graduating high schoolers. I taught everything from basic arithmetic to calculus.
I tutored calculus at the college level. I independently advertised my tutoring services. I mostly tutored Calculus I (not including linear algebra).
