A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is based on the student’s learning style. Each child is different and may require different teaching methods to facilitate learning. Some children are more visual and may require more interactive exercises to learn. I do not believe in spoon-feeding information to children but taking the time to ensure that they fully grasped the concept of a problem and are able to think through a solution on their own. I will work to develop their critical thinking skills and will challenge them, so that they are not just passive learners but active participants in the cognitive process. My experience includes 2 years as a Youth Counselor for the City of Tallahassee (1999 & 2001). I am also the oldest of 5 children with the age difference ranging from 6-16 years, so I've had the responsibility of assisting my siblings with school work. I currently continue to provide assistance as requested by my parents or siblings. I recently began mentoring a prospective accounting major who is in her 2nd year of college and I provide help with her studies.
