Having lived overseas on two occasions and having run several businesses in many environments, I have a diversified experience base to relate authentic examples to the educational setting. I believe the best learning comes from active participation rather than passive observance.
20 year corporate management and 15 years of individual owner business experience. Presently own a finance company. 10 years International living experience. Teaching experience at the University of Iowa as a graduate instructor for undergraduate Management courses. Strength of educational experience is math, finance, economics and accounting, social science and political science. Presentation and test passing skills - yes it is a skill.

A Little Bit About Me...

Making a concerted effort to identify what the student specifically struggles with the most is a central tool of mine when I tutor. I also help my students achieve their learning goals by providing them with a comprehensive breakdown of fundamentals on which they can build on, based on their individual learning needs. It is very important to gauge how well the student absorbs the material and adjust the learning experience accordingly.
I have always had a natural attraction for applied economics, that combined with solid academic training in Accounting and also Finance has given me an enhanced ability to understand business/economic entities at several levels. My teaching style is simple yet very effective. I try to understand the student in terms of habits and overall view of learning and development. I believe that effective learning process cannot be achieved via a 'one-size-fits-all' and spending the time to understand the student goes a long way in making them feel comfortable and mentally ready to learn. With that said, I also believe in making the process fun yet effective. There is an abundance of tutors available and who are very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise.
