I have 27 years of experience teaching and case managing public school special education students in grades 9-12. I have also team-taught a wide variety of "regular ed" classes, such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies, even Home Ec.! I consider myself a facilitator of information more than a teacher. Students must be accountable for their own learning. In math and science, it is important that students know how to apply knowledge rather than merely memorize information. In that regard, it is my job to make sure that students understand the core concepts of the material and then reinforce and encourage them to develop problem solving skills that will help them succeed.
