I have presented research to a room of hundreds of biologist in professional scientific conventions to share and relate research techniques and findings. I have also presented to public audiences (taught) and do very well teaching one on one. Science is very easy to learn if you are able to relate to the student a mechanism or process that they can understand. It depends on the student's learning ability and style.

I aspire to be a tutor who is engaging with the student. Teaching AT the student is something I will not do. I will require my students to utilize their own critical thinking and writing to keep them actively engaged. I view myself as being very personable and will encourage students to ask questions, because I know it can be difficult to ask sometimes. I have an amazing ability to create a strong rapport with children or young adults. I think even those reluctant to strive find it difficult to resist enjoying the act of learning when they have an affable tutor alongside them. I try and approach concepts from different perspectives to see which one the student responds to the most and then try and tailor my methods to their learning style. I try my hardest to try and help students achieve their goals because my greatest joy is knowing I helped a student leap one step closer to their academic aspiration. My teaching experience may be quite underdeveloped but is no way a reflection of my teaching ability. I have been a substitute instructional aide for 3 months and volunteer coaching track & field; These two endeavors have shown me the importance of versatility in teaching methods and the different learning faculty that children possess.
