After having raised 4 children, I know that each child has a different learning style. One may be very able to understand abstract thoughts and teaching styles while the other may not. Therefore, tutoring must be done on a very individual basis. I have degrees in civil engineering and have been in the workforce for 17 years. This has given me a great background in math and science. Since 2008 I have taught math courses at Lakeshore Technical College. I teach Math with Business Applications and Algebra for General Chemistry. I currently tutor two students in math--One is a high school sophomore who is struggling with geometry and wants to get his grades up, and the other is trying to get into a military program and needs to beef up his math score on the ASVAB.
