A Little Bit About Me...

Working with students and education has been a part of my life for about 11 years. I first began doing so in high school, around 1999 working as a volunteer with the YMCA. Eventually I became a counselor and would work my way up to Camp Director. I am proud to say that I am the first of my family to attend a University. Currently I am a senior at Cuny Lehman College in the Bronx, NY where I study English Literature and minor in Secondary Education. Recently I have just returned from studying at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. The year abroad helped me to better understand my culture and gain a stronger grip on my native language. My expertise is in 5th & 6th grades, but am available for grades 2-8. I have some science background and taught technology also.
I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences.
