A Little Bit About Me...

During my three years of formal tutoring, I was able to change my tutoring styles to fit the needs of the student. Everyone learns differently and it is important to realize and adjust my tutoring accordingly.
During the last three years of my undergraduate college career, I was a Mathematics tutor for student athletes. Although the courses covered while tutoring ranged from basic math to calculus, I am more comfotable tutoring algebra and geometry. I earned my BA with a double major in Mathematics and Russian in just four years. After college, I helped my sister and step-sister with their math and math-related physcis problems.

Several college professors have encouraged me to incorporate my writing skills in my professional life. I enjoy teaching a great deal and working with all ages of children. However my favored age group is adolescents. I try as much as possible to appeal to as many learning styles as I can in each situation. Not only does this increase the amount of understanding in the student, but it also increases the amount of retention. It has been my experience that if a visual learner gains understanding visually, that understanding is reinforced by other avenues, such as auditory, or kinesthetic. I always do my best to make sure that the student has learned the needed material and gained competency in whatever skill they are learning.
