Throughout my teaching career I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students from K-12 in a core subject areas. I taught kindergarten for three years. I have also taught math and reading in an online classroom. Currently I substitute teach in all subject areas. I am a patient teacher not rushing the students to complete the task so we can quickly move onto the next skill. My goal is to instill habits and skill sets in my students that change learning from a laborious, anxiety ridden process to a spontaneous and empowering one. We learn most from our mistakes, and so therefore, there is no such thing as failure. A Little Bit About Me...

I like children to learn through exploring. This is not to say that I do not teach, but I plan lessons in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace. I feel like if I can put together a lesson that gives children a motivation to learn, they will learn on a deeper level than if I am merely telling them information. With my middle school math students whom I tutored, this meant that we learned about fractions through art. It was not enough to explain to them how fractions worked, I realized that they needed to experience fractions.
