I have been teaching Information Technology at both the elementary and middle-school level in private schools in Northern Virginia for most of the last ten years. My teaching style is a combination of different methodologies based on the needs of the person whom I am teaching. No one style will fit all persons but the main methods that I use are discussion (Q&A) and hands-on. I like to use visuals such as pictures, slides, and other presentation methods to make the history and or subject more interactive and mentally stimulating as well as memorable. I taught 7th grade Language Arts for six years when I lived in Florida. I collaborated on the team that created the Orange County curriculum for teaching writing to the middle grades. This curriculum is still in use today. I worked for the Princeton Review as a tutor doing SAT preparation both privately and in a classroom setting. This was in preparation for both the verbal and math skills sections.
