I worked for Panther Academic Support Services at UW Milwaukee from Sept 2007 to May 2011. I tutored students individually and in group settings in math and science courses. I have worked with students from all academic backgrounds. I began tutoring algebra to incoming freshmen. I tutored calculus to business students and I tutored physics to students studying health science. I strongly believe that an education that leads with concepts instead of rote is the surest route to lifelong success. This is certainly the method that worked for me, and I find that, without the conceptual grounding, a student will not get as much out of necessary practice exercises. Thus, when I am working with a student on a subject, I tend to approach the concept foremost, creatively using a wide range of examples and descriptions to elucidate it. As a biochemistry undergraduate student, I was selected to be an organic chemistry workshop leader. As a workshop leader, I meet with students on a weekly basis to complete difficult organic chemistry problems and answer any questions that they may have.
