I have 7 years of teaching experience in the public school system. As an English major at the University of Florida, I found a love for language learning and language acquisition; as a result, I declared Linguistics and TESL as additional majors. In these majors, I became quit ept at understanding grammatical principles and language learning theory. I began volunteering my knowledge to foreign language learners and found that I loved helping others learn. After receiving my BA, I began teaching writing and reading to native and non-native speakers at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL. A Little Bit About Me...

Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.
As the daughter of educators, I have been exposed to the education system all my life. As a result of this exposure, I became very interested in tutoring and teaching. I taught for two years as a substitute teacher before attending law school. I previously worked as a substitute teacher with Morrow Elementary in North Lauderdale, Florida where I taught test-taking strategies for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.
