In the early 2000s, Dr. Park's Academy was founded by Dr. Park, who received his Ph.D in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M, and his wife. Dr. Park and his wife have always been passionate about education. Dr. Park has been a long-time teacher, originally beginning his career as a Professor. In the 90s, he began working for NASA and specialized in space vacuums. Dr. Park has had long-term familial ties to Alaska, and in 1998, Dr. Park became an Alaskan resident and is the lead mechanical engineer for a local non-profit company with an operating budget of $430 million and 2,000 employees.

I have a wide variety of experience and an innate desire to learn more about the world around me. I began my undergraduate degree in Political Science, but after taking a Biology course in California, became rather excited about the sciences. I have worked in a variety of laboratory settings, as well as in the field, applying the science that I have learned to real life situations and truly gaining a better understanding of the dynamic nature of the sciences. This is what I love. From reading the latest National Geographic to listening to Science Friday on NPR, the never-ending potential of science today excites me and certainly makes me a more dynamic, animated instructor.
