A Little Bit About Me...

I am experienced in teaching. I have worked within the public school systems as a substitute teacher and as a permanent employee. In addition, I have taught GED classes to adults; and tutored elementary and high school students. I am nearly completed with my Master of Science degree, and I have an earned Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.
I am passionate when it comes to teaching. I conduct my lessons with the understanding that every child is an individual. Therefore, they each have their own learning pace and preferences. The first tutoring session, I set aside, to learn more about the child and to conduct an assessment which will help me in determining that child's learning patterns. More About This Tutor...

My experience in teaching is broad and varied. I have taught medical students, other physicians, technologists, as well as teaching at military facilities. In additiom, I have two school age children myself and I believe that I am their primary teacher. This varied teaching experience allows me to tailor my teaching methods to the students and has allowed me to gain a great fund of knowledge.
I believe that learning is best achieved in a comfortable, nothreatening enviroment. People learn best when they understand the importance of the material being taught, something I strive to convey to my students. While I can easily teach a didactic lecturing style, I feel that an interactive approach often better meets the needs of the students. Ultimately, education is a reflection of the students success and the teacher is merely a means to that end.
