My comments on tutoring Poetry : Many of my works of poetry have been published in national publications and well as being used for public use such as The Whitney Project, greeting cards, and postcards.

My first job right after turning 16 was working as a photographer and journalist for the local newspaper in my hometown. My main job was working with the teen section; GeneratioNext asking questions, taking polls, and writing articles that were teen related to teen issues, college and continuing education, and career goals. Throughout my junior high school and high school years I worked closely with the editor of the school newspaper as a writer, and with the yearbook committee taking classes in journalism and photography. When I started pursuing my associates while enrolled at San Antonio College I took photography classes more for recreation and to hone my hobby and appreciation for photos, editing, and working behind the camera. A Little Bit About Me...

It has been my privilege to teach at many levels and venues over my career which started in the mid 70’s. Elementary Education was my first major, and I enjoyed teaching in a Christian setting at 5th and 6th grade levels for many years. I opened my own Reading Center to help special students. Later I went to graduate school at St John’s College. I’ve taught Jr. High, H.S., and Jr. College. Most recently Sylvan Learning Center has given me great experience teaching reading, writing, and math.
My goal is to help students succeed in learning and in gaining confidence. My teaching style is to get the student engaged through multi-sensory and high interest sources.
