I student centered. I believe you have to know how the student learns and tailor the work to interest them and relate the material to real world scenarios. The student needs to be engaged to be able to reach their full potential.
I am a certified Special Education teacher. I work in the NEISD district. I have been a redirection and behavior teacher, a self contained teacher, a resource teacher, and I have co-taught a class. The way public schools are set up they focus on excelency on state tests, and don't build up on needed stepping stones for the next years levels. I love the English language with its nuances, beauty, and precision of meaning. I taught in public schools for a number of years as a substitute, then returned to the university to study teaching of art, finally achieving a Master's Degree in English (All A's), with certifications to teach both subjects.
