A Little Bit About Me...

I like to get a sense of what the student already knows and try to build on that knowledge.
I have tutored on a volunteer basis with the Holyoke Tutor/Mentor Program for more than a year. I have also tutored privately. My experience has been with adults, however, I would like to add experience working with secondary school students. I can help with SAT's, MCAS, and just provide support for a student who needs some extra help.

During my undergraduate career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I obtained a wealth of knowledge in the fields of math and science. I did this by striving for excellence in the classroom and participating in cutting edge research with professors in the Entomology and Organic Chemistry departments. My extensive knowledge of the subjects I’ve studied has allowed me to assist my friends in understanding complex and difficult problems. I believe the best way for someone to learn something is through application and repetition. As a student of life I believe that the best thing we can do for our children is to teach them how to learn. With that particular tool in their toolbox, there is no limit to what they can accomplish. In school it led me to become valedictorian of my high school class and Phi Beta Kappa in college, and it has allowed my learning to continue throughout my adult life.
