A Little Bit About Me...

I began to work at Regions Bank in New Albany the Summer after my Senior year of high school. While still working for the bank, I attended Ole Miss for a year, then transfered to Northeast for the next year. I returned to Ole Miss to recieve my bachelors degree in Managerial Finance with an emphasis in Investments. I am now employed for a furniture company out of Tupelo, where I am an Accountant. Although I do not have much teaching experience, I am quite knowledgeable with Financials and Accounting Principals. I have turtored a few children in mathmatics, and I also helped other classmates.

Attaining two degrees has opened my eyes to many different teaching styles and ways of learning. I believe that the most effective way to learn and teach is to explain concepts and theories thoroughly before any application of these concepts. A Little Bit About Me...

Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work. I have earned my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. I love computers and programming as well as web design. I was even a Teacher Assistant for a Data Structures class at my university (CSI 310) in which i helped students with homework and programming assignments. In this role i helped students learn concepts such as linked lists, tree structures, recursive thinking as well as other types of data structures. I have also done a lot of math in my pursuit of my computer science degree and will more then gladly help out with math related questions as well.
