I have tutored several people in the past in basic algebra for various things such as the GED or a college class. I worked for two years as a tutor at the Augusta State University Writing Center, tutoring all manner of students, from ESL to graduate students. I also tutored a student with aspergers; thus, I have experience working with special needs clients. I also do freelance editing. My teaching style is to insist on excellence in speaking, writing, and reading in English. I work with patience, but over a reasonable amount of time, constantly using the wrong tense will earn students a demerit on the class "OOP's" chart. This is a "fun" classroom tool but soon they begin to correct themselves and each other.
