I was on honor roll in high school on a consistent basis. My best subjects were English and Writing. I attended Pennsylvania State University for Communications with a focus on English Writing and the study of Film and Media Arts. I have a thorough understanding of the English language and a strong knack for comprehension. My comments on tutoring Grammar : As a proofreader with many years of experience, I correct texts for grammatical errors and can also make suggestions for improving legibility, etc.

Although grammar is important, languages are acquired overwhelmingly by listening (60%) and speaking (30%), whereas only 5% each by reading and writing. I view myself more as a coach than a "teacher", using a modern didactic method also known as accelerated learning. Learning should be fun, otherwise, something is not right, and I always try to find out what that "something" is.
In the past 30 years, languages have been my passion. I have worked as a teacher, proofreader/editor, and also as a translator. I have taught everything from classes to private lessons, children to senior citizens with success and enthusiasm. I always try to find out what my students love, and start working from this to help them achieve their goals.
