A Little Bit About Me...

I benefited from the liberal arts education I received from the University of Puget Sound, which offered a diverse selection of classes and an exploratory environment in which to pursue my studies. For two years, I studied Chemistry and Biology while also taking classes in the Humanities. I eventually majored in International Political Economy and obtained minors in Spanish and Latin American Studies. During my undergraduate years, I studied in Oaxaca, Mexico and received a grant for summer research. Upon graduation I spent a year doing anthropology research in Peru on a Fulbright grant, while also becoming fluent in Spanish and learning a third language, Quechua.

I love to watch a child develop a sense of accomplishment while meeting personal goals. I believe it is important to provide children with opportunities to explore and discover their strengths. I believe that an attentive educator can observe and identify the areas which can be strengthened, so that children can achieve academic and personal success. My goal is to provide children with a creative, secure and nurturing environment in which they are encouraged to become life-long learners by exploring, making mistakes and discovering.

As an English major I have always enjoyed and excelled in the field. I was top of my class in high school. I also aided in the kindergarten class. I changed my major in college because I knew English was my calling. I have a Bachelor's degree from Warner Pacific. I enjoyed my classes and did extremely well. I aided at Clackamas High for a while, where I enjoyed the one on one with the students. In my current job I have trained and taught many associates.
