A Little Bit About Me...

My philosophy has always been, "make it interesting and they will learn." However, what is interesting to you and I may not be interesting to the next person. Therefore, I listen to the child and figure out their learning style and interests. Only then can I properly teach and know they understand the subject matter. It is always exciting to see a Childs face when something clicks and they have that, "I understand what she is talking about moment."
Having taught high school in both affluent and underprivileged areas I strive to make sure that every student has a positive learning experience. A Little Bit About Me...

I have completed courses in algebra, calculus, statistics, physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology, ecology, and other biology related courses all of which require a high math and science competency. I have also performed extensive research at UNCC and graduated with a 3.1. I have also tutored college students in chemistry and algebra on the side.
I come from a family of educators -- a college professor, a principal, an elementary school teacher, and a school counselor and basketball coach. I think all of these members of my family have influenced me in a positive way in regards to teaching. I am a compassionate, patient person and am willing to help when people need it. Since childhood, my hunger for knowledge has driven me to study and learn about almost as much as I possibly could.
