The real skill in teaching any subject is the ability to notice when a student, who for all intents and purposes has the capacity to succeed in a particular subject, but does not seem to be able to achieve such success. My approach to teaching is to listen to the “student”. Is she simply bored with the subject? The approach I take with the child depends on the answers to these questions.
