Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : As a novelist (soon to publish my first book), I encourage creativity with a solid background in grammar and composition.

Previous art experience includes a completion of 2D Design, 3D Design, and Basic Drawing I and II all at college level with a strong demonstrative understanding of basic concepts and techniques, including line, texture, form, depth, composition, color (including local, optical, monochromatic, analogous, triadic and tetradic), lighting (directional/atmospheric), shading, blending, gesture drawing, blocking, expressive mark, etc. Also completed History of Art and Architecture I and II at college level. For students who tend to be more tactile, I might have them handle apples if a math problem references apples. A Little Bit About Me...

I began my teaching career in South San Antonio, teaching at both the elementary level (K and 3) and at the middle school (6-8). At Shepard Middle School, I implemented a writing program that was credited with bringing standardized (TAAS at the time) scores up substantially, garnering our school a large monetary award from the state. After twelve years, I moved to the North East ISD, where I taught English at both Nimitz Middle School and Barbara Bush Middle School. I retired last June, but I still love working with children of all ages.
I believe in relationships first. If a teacher knows her/his students, she/he can usually find what motivates them and use that to gain their trust and interest. Having taught for as long as I have, I know of many different ways to reach students. A positive attitude and an easy going personality go a long way, and I am known for both.
