Experienced and New York State Certified teacher. I have over 10 years experience teaching students in grades 1-12 and 5 years experience teaching adults. I also have extensive tutoring experience. I have an MA from Marist College as well as a BA from NYU. I have designed and taught SAT prep classes (verbal/writing portion) as well as developing curriculum integrating diverse domains of knowledge to create a broad, deep and flexible learning experience for students.
I believe that competence and confidence are BOTH important in learning. Students bring their own knowledge and learning styles to the process. It is the teachers job not only to adapt instructional style to best support the learner, but also to help the student understand his or her own learning style and needs.

I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. Physics is my forte and I love talking about and teaching the subject. I am especially helpfull to students challenged by word problems. Throughout college I would host study groups in Physics and Chemistry. I currently am a financial advisor.

As a college and high school English instructor, I have had the opportunity to teach and tutor students on many different levels. After graduating college I taught elementary K-8th grade in NYC. I taught for one year and decided to live Paris, France teaching English. I lived in Paris, France for 1.5 years then moved to Rome, Italy, again teaching English. My experiences were wonderful as I met people who really enjoyed learning English and needed it for work. After 6 months I returned to the states and taught at a Junior High School on the Lower eastside of NYC. I left teaching after 10 years to market computers. My skills as an educator served me well and I did extremely well. After approximately 8 years I decided I wanted to go back to teaching, and have been teaching the use of computers.
