I like to teach using a hands-on approach. I believe the best way to learn is to do or at least attempt to do. I really find satisfaction when I see the “light bulb” go off and there is a glimmer if understanding in the eyes of my pupil.
For the past 10 years I have been teaching a wide variety of students ranging in age from their 80’s to 8. I obtained my BS in Information Technology which gives me a vast knowledge of computer applications, networking, and technical communications. I have also worked in a higher academic institution and have extensive knowledge of grammatical skills as well as different formats for composing research papers. Being raised in a home with educators greatly influenced who I am, and how I view the building of knowledge. While I earned my B.S in psychology and minored in business, I participated in after school tutoring programs for a local public school. My studies of child development and the neuropsychology involved in learning helped immensely as I pursued my graduate degree in the college of education.
