A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring for over 8 years. I have also started youth tutoring programs since 2007. I have taught algebra, organic chemistry, physics, and other core mathematics and chemistry classes. Although I have taught in group settings, I prefer to tutor no more than three students at a time. I have taught grades from 6th grade all the way up to sophomore college level.
I use the preferences, hobbies, likes, and dislikes of the student to relate the information in which they are learning. I use examples from everyday life that helps them understand information that is applicable to everyday life.

Pre-Calculus is one of my top subjects!

I try to explain concepts by explaining the methods behind them. Once a student understands the concepts, it is easier for them to apply them to other problem situations.
With over 35 years experience teaching math, I have successfully taught students from third grade through college calculus. I graduated from Ronald Reagan High School with a 4.6 GPA in the second graduating class ('08), then went on the NC State University to study Engineering, where I jumped in between various Engineering programs for three years before simply deciding to take a break and truly figure out what I want to study. Experienced math tutor.

I have been tutoring at Forsyth Technical Community College since September 2008. I work on average, over the 5 years, 15 hours a week, but now working 21 hours a week since I am now out of school. I have done private tutoring for about 3 years now, either with people from met from school or from tutoring. I got a BS in both Mathematics and Computer Science in May of 2013. Math and computers have always been my strength, and when getting my degree, I would always help my friends in their classes.
It depends on the student and what they are doing.
