A Little Bit About Me...

I've been a special education teacher and held positions in resource and in self-contained rooms. I've taught students with learning problems in reading, math, and writing. I have also worked in the Lights on for Learning program and have been a home tutor for home bound students in the district.
I'm a strong believer in the Gardner's ideas of many different learning styles and types of intelligent. Some students are better audio, tactile, or visual learners. I feel it is the teacher's responsibility to find the best learning style for each student and build on that format through scaffolding. I love nothing better than to see the light bulb go off in a students mind. This also helps them to realize that learning can be a fun adventure.

Then, from September 1998 to February 2005, I taught French and English at ISTT (Institut des Sciences et Techniques du Tertiaire), a private high school in Sokode. I kept an excellent record of teaching performance till 2005 when I moved to the States.

I come from a family of teachers and have always felt that teaching was one of the most important professions because it can have such a positive effect on the lives of others.
