As a graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minored in Chemistry, I received an excellent education. Until recently, I worked in a research laboratory at UIUC, studying ecology and evolution. I'm a strong believer in the Gardner's ideas of many different learning styles and types of intelligent. Some students are better audio, tactile, or visual learners. I feel it is the teacher's responsibility to find the best learning style for each student and build on that format through scaffolding. I love nothing better than to see the light bulb go off in a students mind. This also helps them to realize that learning can be a fun adventure.

As a graduate student working towards earning my Master's in Education, I presently observe and do field research studies with students at the elementary age.
