A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with adults. I prefer a one on one direct instruction and mentoring, keeping everything simple and fun. I am not sure how well I would be with children; I have none of my own and have not spent much time with my nephews and nieces. Towards the end of my college career I assisted in "Community New Start" in Austin, TX which was a mentor program assisting high school children in under-privileged districts. I assisted with basic math and English material. A few months later a group of us from the University of Texas assisted in the "Reagan High School" project, where the district was considering closing the school down due to failing TAKS scores, mainly in reading comprehension and math. This entailed going into classrooms and helping teachers with students needing help in basic math and science tutorials.
