I recently completed my education to be a communication and English educator at the University of Minnesota - Duluth. Through the program I spent a year as an apprentice at a middle school and high school. At these locations I not only observed, but also conducted the classroom a day each week. Also at this time I spent a day tutoring a low functioning reader one-on-one for the entire semester. The following year I student taught high school English and creative writing. I have been teaching for seven years-mostly math and some language arts. The math teaching included geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, basic high school math and middle school math. One year my students had the highest improvement in standardized math test scores in the district, for the lower level students. My student test scores have always been high so I retained the scores. I tutored psychology for two years in college for a Buffalo State College program called SEEK, and received many compliments from the students.
