My comments on tutoring Algebra : In Algebra 1, students are really learning the" art of problem solving". Compared to previous math, problems get more complicated, both in structure and presentation. Logic skills are required, in addition to the arithmetic skills taught up to this point. Complications arise when the foundational math is not strong, and/or there is difficulty in understanding the questions (often presented as word problems). Believe in yourself, and you are half-way there!

My teaching style depends on the student. I am comfortable with trying different study methods in order to figure out why my student is having trouble with a particular subject.
