English and Math are (2) of my strengths but I am well versed in many of the academics skills necessary in order to obtain a NYS Regent's Diploma. Receiving two degrees, a B.A. in Music and a B.A. in Anthropology has allowed me to be sensitive to any cultural background and/or differences. Graduating at the top of my class and receiving the Academic Achievement Award in the Music Department exemplifies my ability to succeed and pass this motivation on to others. I have taught private lessons of various ages in multiple instruments, and my abilities as a Teacher's Assistant in Jazz Composition has given me the necessary experience to teach others a variety of musical skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

I finished my degree by going to summer and night school; I graduated in 1979. I was the first in my family to go to college and I am very proud of that. I have become a much better writer and am much more aware of grammar through writing reports, technical papers and SOPs. For a couple of years I volunteered for Literacy Volunteers because of my love of reading.
I like working with children. They are so appreciative and excited when they learn and figure out a new word or anything. I am easy going and very supportive. GIven a good learning atmosphere, good support, encouragement and enthusiasm and children can learn. Everyone learns in different ways; in a one-on-one situation that can be discovered and lessons designed to best help the child.
