Learning Can be Fun!

I have tutored children in group and individual piano lessons. I have tutored them in math and social studies. I have spent over 20 years in business in the accounting field and prepared countless financial statements and income tax returns. I am skilled in all things mathematical. I also speak Spanish through over 9 years of instruction.
I like to allow the student to read the material once and clarity any areas that need more explanation. Then I will allow them to answer questions from the material read and help them where needed to choose the correct answer and understand the reason for the answers. I like to reward a certain level of correct answers with points that can be redeemed for interesting small prizes. I also consider myself very patient and interested in the student having a strong foundation for future learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I actually don't have much experience as a tutor beyond helping classmates study, however throughout my experience in high school I've experimented with and adopted many avant-garde and unorthodox studying techniques and thought processes that have served gratuitously to my benefit, and I'm positive will serve yours as well.
I'm currently a senior attending Winter Park High School. I have a slew of education and extracurricular related accolades, and have been commended highly for my skills in writing (both creative and professional). My transcript has a long history of Advanced Placement courses and my standardized exam scores are impressive to say the least least (30 ACT, 1800 SAT, multiple AP Exam credits).

A Little Bit About Me...

For many years, I have always equated my personal happiness with my scholastic achievements. As an International Baccalaureate diploma recipient and a graduate of the University of Florida, I continue to strive for excellence when it comes to my education. While in college, I earned a bachelor's degree in political science, which has enabled me to gain an acute understanding of many areas of politics, including public administration, policy formulation, as well as many facets of environmental politics. While pursuing my degree, I presented many reports and wrote dozens of research papers and essays on a wide array of topics which had a direct positive effect on the development of my excellent communication and grammatical skills. I have tutored students on and off for a handful of years now, in math topics like algebra and geometry, as well as Spanish, and English.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching, and working with students. Everyone can learn, and the educator is ultimately responsible to providing multiple styles of learning for students to discover and connect to learning. Tutorial enrichment through remediation is most important for students to grasp and exhibit mastery over certain strands and goals. However, students learn by movement, doing, hearing, seeing, and repeating. It is also essential to "know thy students" and provide a holistic approach so that students can be given many approaches to the learning experience.
I have been teaching in the classroom for about 16 years. Areas of teaching experience has been Language Arts, History, Geography, and now Personal Character Development to High School Seniors about to graduate. I have also tutored in every subject listed above. I simply love to teach, and am very good at it. It, I believe, is a ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine; I can't help but to further knowledge and education of our young people. I ask kids questions about their work so I can see their thought process. If they give me a wrong answer, I ask for them to back their answer up. I find that helping them work through the work is much more effective than telling them everything. Mistakes are OK, they're how they learn. I'm calm and patient. I understand evidence-based techniques, and strive to make learning effective and fun. Education is so important to success and self worth, and I'm dedicated to providing each child with a chance to succeed.
I graduated college from USF and was immediately hired to teach intensive reading at the elementary level. I was trained by Susan Hall and the 95 Percent Group, and taught direct instruction intervention for a year and a half. For the past ten months, I ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BA in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, with a 4.0 GPA. I began mentoring youth with the Key Club during my sophomore year in high school, and I have been volunteering with multiple agencies since then. I enjoy teaching children and am knowledgeable in several subjects, with science being my strongest. As a Junior Achievement volunteer, I instructed third graders in economics, discussed careers and college education, and helped students understand difficult concepts. Currently I am an Educator at SeaWorld, where I share presentations on a wide variety of animal information with the general public.
A teacher needs to be patient, dedicated, and caring with students. These are all qualities I possess, and I work my hardest to ensure that children I work with are progressing academically. I am knowledgeable on different learning styles and am aware o ... read more
