I have been teaching for 13 years. I began teaching Social Studies classes at the high school level and taught every variety of student for 6 years. I then received my Masters in Special Education and began working with special needs students in the high school setting. While teaching Special Education students,I received my Specialists Degree in Special Education. I currently teach Social Studies to learning disabled, emotional behavior students, and Mildly Intellectually disabled students. I am also in charge of the tutoring program for the whole school in Social Studies. I have a lot of patience and am willing to try anything. Most all of my experience in life has been in business, Corporate America. However, I have always been a teacher at heart. I spent several years as a student tutor while I was attending college, both in the classroom and during my online courses. I have instructed many of my fellow employees while on the job. Most of this instruction has come in the form of teaching new job responsibilities to seasoned employees, as well as teaching new employees the basics of their jobs.
I believe that a student should have the time to figure things out on their own, but with guidance from their tutor or teacher. I think I should provide a student with all the tools they need, and then through example I will teach a student to figure things out for themselves. I left there in January 2010 to pursue my Masters in Accounting.
