I received my college degree in English from Willamette University, and I have a great deal of experience with the written word. I have been an editor of the Oregon voters’ pamphlet, co-editor of the college newspaper at Chemeketa Community College and an intern in communications at Willamette University. I have been a writing tutor at both Chemeketa and Willamette and a tutor in the ABE/GED program at Chemeketa and at a community college in Bethel, Alaska. I taught English as a Foreign Language to both high school and university students while in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan.

A Little Bit About Me...

Helping students be successful is the most important aspect of teaching, in my opinion. Each student is unique in his or her learning style. A teacher's job is to find the way in which a student learns best and to encourage them to think on their own. Students must think about and discover for themselves in order for learning to be truly meaningful. I am someone who will help guide a student in this direction.
I graduated with a BA from Willamette University with a major in history and minors in math and Spanish. I then attended Willamette's MAT program where I earned a Masters in Education with endorsements to teach middle and high school mathematics, social studies and ESOL.
