Speaking is one of my top subjects! I consider myself a great public speaker. I recently passed Ball State Universtity's communications and public speaking course with an A and could help anyone do the same!

I am in my third year at Ball State University. I recently changed my major from Biology to Accounting; therefore, I have lots of knowledge in many different areas - some that aren't listed on my profile. I am experienced in categories ranging from Biology to Accounting to baking. I won several Grand Champion awards in Indiana's Madison County 4-H program for Baking and Woodworking while I have A's in Chemistry, Accounting, Biology, Spanish, Calculus, and many many other subjects from Ball State University. As an undergraduate, I attended Purdue University and worked as a teaching assistant where I ran my own lab, instructing students for one of their core management courses. In my junior year, I was asked to apply to an invitation-only program for an an accelerated MBA program only for exceptional students. I am now entering my final year of this program and will graduate in 2011 with a BS in Business Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. The graduate program is team focused and emphasizes working with and teaching diverse groups of people.
I am a strong believer in teaching through examples and letting students try to apply the knowledge I have taught them at various smaller stages, then apply it to the bigger picture. I love working with kids, and I think that with patience, understanding, and time, all students are capable of reaching their potential.

My teaching style is one of friendly leadership. Working through problems or lessons with the student by leading them through it, then working it with them side by side while explaining the details helps them achieve the accomplishment of learning without making them feel as if they were just instructed how to do it. Helping a student learn is more than just teaching them a lesson in math, science, or English; it’s about being someone that they can look up to as a role model, being someone that they can learn from in more than just an academic manner, and being someone who is there for them when they need something. A Little Bit About Me...

In previous work evaluations my supervisor has described my teaching style as "Experiential". I have a passion to teach with example and hands on practial skills. I created a game in which to teach parents and children how to get rid of their "hang ups". My motto is "Reaching Higher" and I thoroughly enjoy helping a child or adolescent reach higher to understand their full potential. It is an "ah ha" moment for both myself and an individual that I might be teaching, when they "arrive" at that point, to reveal their own learning style. My teaching style is very casual.
