I began my tutoring experience in the fall of 2009 with a program called Breakthrough Manchester. It serves underprivileged students in the area who do not have the resources to succeed. They ranged from grade 5 to 8. With Breakthrough I worked one-on-one with students as well as in a classroom setting in which I conducted my own lessons. I helped students with a variety of subjects such as science, math, social studies, geography, and even organizational skills. I worked with children from all walks of life, including kids with disabilities. During my time at Breakthrough I also spent two days a week tutoring mentally disabled adults. I helped them with basic math and reading skills, as well as life skills.
