I worked in the Polya Math Tutoring Center on the University of Idaho Campus for 3 years where I tutored various college math courses. I was also a private tutor on campus and tutored math courses up through the level of Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. Mathematics can be fun,,, REALLY

Teaching Style : Teaching style has to adjust to student. I know the subject, I must know how the student learns and adapt my teaching to that.

I believe that teaching through lecture and hands-on activities is the most effective. I have come to find that the very simplest of assumptions can mislead students. I like to start each problem with a new set of assumptions, or a "given", "find", and "solution" step-by-step process. This allows the student to see the problem as a whole and if there are problems, be able to identify where they are beginning whether it's in the initial assumption or in the solution step.
