A Little Bit About Me...

While in college, I earned a BS degree in Education with minors in Science and Biology. I have taught for 15 years in inner city St. Louis, MO, 5 years at Job Corps in Kentucky, and 3 years in alternative schools in Kentucky. I presently teach students, grades 7-12 in an Ombudsman Alternate School in Nashville, TN. I have experience in tutoring students in the areas of science, mathematics, biology, and history.
I enjoy teaching and working with students. I believe all children can learn according to their individual learning styles. I have always believed that each child is truly unique. I However do not believe that all education and forms of it, should be uniform. Working with children with special needs has allowed me to be able to get to know the student and adjust the curriculum so that the child will be able to benefit the most from!
As a communication disorders major I have acquired an understand and love for working with children. During my internship I was able to work one-on-one with children who have language disabilities. It was through this internship that I learned what a reward it can be to help others, and to see them flourish intellectually.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching and tutoring students of all ages for the last ten years. Having graduated with a BA in English, I have learned much about writing and the writing process that I believe could help students at all levels. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a small liberal arts college, I have spent many hours volunteering to help tutor my classmates in both biology and the humanities. I hold a bachelor's degree in biology. I have learned extensive grammatical skills through my school's intensive general studies program. I am confident in my ability to tutor students in mathematics, science, English and the humanities at the K-12 level and biology and English at the college level.

My easy going nature and fun personality allows me to make learning interesting. I have always believed that the best way for someone to learn is to put the information into terms that are understandable to them. In the past I have used illustrations, acted out scenes from battles, utilized initialisms, and made up songs to help students learn concepts.
