I have had much success with my style of tutuoring, and take much pride and personal satisfaction as a result. I listen carefully to how children approach a problem, and follow their through process in determining a solution. I often guide them towards the correct way (or possible several ways) of approaching a problem, as opposed to just giving an answer, etc. I also use analogies a lot when helpingh them analyze a given problem, a demonstrate how an approach can be used to solve similar problems.

Though applicable to any subject, for science and math I adhere to the inquiry method. I'm believe in the teacher finding something interesting in what is being taught, asking leading questions with which the students answer, and having the students learn through their answers. Lecturing is my least favorite method, and I believe the least effective.

As a college graduate I found that my skills were better off served outside the classroom and could better be used in a one-on-one situation instead of 15 kids at once. I hold a BS in Communication with concentration on English. I have extensive experience with writing and editing as I have worked for various publications.
